Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of Orihako, including pdf.orihako.com and the downloadable agent for AI tools (the "Service"), provided by Naoki Nakayama ("we", "us"). By using the Service you agree to these terms.

1. The Service

Orihako is a set of PDF tools (merge, compress, text recognition and more) that run inside your browser or on your computer. Your files are not sent to our servers.

Size limits and the accuracy of automatic features are described on the Rules and accuracy page.

2. Free use and the trial run

Every tool is free to use without a limit on the number of runs, one file at a time (or the set of files a tool takes at once, such as a merge).

Until paid plans go on sale, the Service is in a trial run and every feature, including paid-plan features, is free. We will announce the end of the trial run on the site.

3. Paid plans and licences

• Pro (one-time payment): chained steps, batches of up to 20 files per run, saved recipes and more, with no expiry. Up to 3 browsers.
• 7-day pass (one-time payment): the Pro features for 7 days from purchase. It does not renew. Up to 3 browsers.
• Business (yearly subscription, renews automatically): the Pro features plus folder automation and run logs, up to 200 files per run. Up to 5 browsers.
• A purchase gives you a licence key. It may be used only by the buyer (for Business, within the buying organisation) and may not be shared, transferred or resold.
• To move a key to another browser, remove it from the browser you no longer use.

4. Payment

Orders are processed by our reseller Lemon Squeezy, the Merchant of Record, which handles payment, sales tax and VAT, and receipts. Lemon Squeezy's buyer terms also apply to your purchase.

Prices are shown including tax where applicable. Your card may be charged in US dollars, so the amount on your statement can differ slightly with exchange rates.

5. Cancellation

You can cancel Business at any time. It will not renew, and you keep access until the end of the period you have paid for. Cancel from the link in your purchase email or by contacting us.

6. Refunds

• Pro and the 7-day pass are one-time purchases and are not refundable. Please try the Service first during the trial run or with the free tools.
• We will refund a one-time purchase if you bought the same plan twice by mistake, or if a defect in the Service keeps a purchased feature from working and we cannot fix it within a reasonable time.
• Business (yearly): if you contact us within 14 days of a payment (the first payment or a renewal), we refund that payment in full.
• To ask for a refund, email us with your order number. Refunds are issued through Lemon Squeezy, and a refunded licence key stops working.
• Where the law gives you a right to a refund, that right applies regardless of this section.

7. Your files and results

• Files are processed on your device; we cannot see or keep them. Keep your own backups of the originals.
• Always check results such as redaction, text recognition, comparisons and automatic file names before you rely on them.
• Make sure you have the right to process the files you use.

8. Acceptable use

• Do not use the Service for unlawful purposes.
• Do not infringe the rights of others, including copyright and privacy.
• Do not share, transfer or resell licence keys, or circumvent the limits of paid features.
• Do not overload or attack the Service or our payment partner's systems.

9. The local agent for AI tools

The agent runs on your computer and writes results only to the folder you give it. When you let an AI tool use it, you are responsible for the actions it takes, including confirming steps that cannot be undone, such as redaction.

10. Warranty and liability

We work to keep the Service reliable, but we do not guarantee that it works in every environment or that its results suit a particular purpose.

Except in cases of our intent or gross negligence, our liability for any damage arising from the Service is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the damage occurred.

11. Changes

We may add or change features. Before we substantially reduce the features of a paid plan or change these terms, we will announce it on the site. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated terms.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Japan.
