When to use it
IRCC's secure account takes files up to 4 MB, and some of its portals only 2 MB (checked 15 September 2026). This recipe puts your photos or scans into one A4 PDF, removes blank pages and compresses it with a 10% margin under 4 MB. For a 2 MB portal, change the target to 1.8 MB. Always check IRCC's current instructions, and that the text is still readable, before you submit.
