When to use it

Attachments sent to Japan's e-Tax as image data (PDF) are limited to 14.0 MB and 136 files per send (raised from 8 MB in May 2023; as of September 2026, check e-Tax's guidance). This recipe merges the documents into one PDF, compresses them without visible loss and splits the result into files of 12 MB with margin. Attach the parts across separate sends.
