When to use it

HMCTS CE-File takes one PDF per document, up to 50 MB each; larger files go through the Document Upload Centre instead (as of September 2026; check the court's guidance). This recipe merges the documents into one PDF with a bookmark per file, adds running page numbers at the bottom centre so a bundle can be cited, flattens annotations and form fields, removes author data, compresses without quality loss and splits at 45 MB.
