Fit a mail's size limit
Make a PDF small enough to send by email. It is first made smaller without changing any picture; if that is not enough, photos go to the standard quality; if it is still too big, it is cut between pages.
Your files are never uploaded.
How to use it
- Drop one PDF.
- Choose the limit of the mail it goes through. If you are not sure, keep 10 MB.
- Press Run. Orihako says how far it went (as it was, smaller, or cut); send cut parts one per email.
Questions and answers
Why does it aim below the limit itself?
Email carries an attachment as text, which makes it about 1.37 times bigger on the way. So for a 10 MB limit the file is made about 7.2 MB at most.
Will it look worse?
Not at first: it is made smaller without changing any picture. Only when that is not enough are photos set to the standard quality, which still prints well. Text and lines never change.
How do I send the parts?
They are named in order, like quote_1of3.pdf and quote_2of3.pdf. Attach one per email and put 1/3, 2/3 in the subject so the reader knows the order.
