Do layout, tables and pictures carry over?
The words do: paragraphs, headings and page breaks. Tables become lines of text and pictures are left out. Use it as a draft to edit.
What about a scanned PDF?
It holds no text, so run it through OCR first, then convert.
Is my file sent anywhere?
No. Reading the text and writing the .docx both happen in your browser.
